Do I need to remove bearings and seals before sending parts in?
Yes please. The blasting and cleaning processes will damage rubber and most plastics, and water can get trapped behind bearings. Strip parts to bare metal where possible. If you cannot remove something, tell us in your quote request and we will quote for masking it.
Can you collect or do I need to drop off?
Drop-off at the workshop is easiest. We also accept parts by post (please pack well and insure for the value you would not want to lose). For larger jobs in the Oldham / Greater Manchester area we can sometimes collect - ask when you request a quote.
How long does turnaround take?
Most jobs are turned around within 5 to 10 working days from when the parts arrive with us. Larger restoration projects or busy periods can extend this - we will always give you an honest timeline when we quote.
What is the difference between vapour blast and soda blast?
Vapour blast uses glass-bead media in water and gives a uniform satin finish on metal. Soda blast uses sodium bicarbonate, is much gentler, and is mainly used for stripping paint, carbon and coatings without changing the underlying metal. We will recommend the right process for your parts.
