Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 12 May 2026
Black Diamond Garage Ltd is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology.
Standards we aim for
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This is the level recommended by the UK Government Digital Service and the standard most businesses are expected to meet under the Equality Act 2010.
What we have done
- The site uses semantic HTML so screen readers can announce headings, lists, forms and landmarks correctly.
- Every form field has a visible label and announces validation errors to assistive technology.
- Keyboard users can reach and operate every interactive element. A "skip to main content" link is the first thing on every page.
- Focus is visible and high-contrast when navigating with the keyboard.
- We honour the operating system "reduce motion" preference - animations and transitions are minimised when that setting is on.
- Dialogs and modals trap focus, can be dismissed with Escape, and return focus to where you were when they close.
- Colours and contrast on text aim to meet AA contrast ratios. If you spot somewhere they don't, please let us know.
- If our submission forms fail (network problem, server outage), the site still gives you a phone number and email address you can contact us on directly.
Known limitations
This site is in early life and is being improved as we go. Things we know need work:
- Images uploaded by the admin via the gallery may not always have alt text yet. We are adding it as we curate the gallery.
- Some admin-only pages (the staff dashboard) have not been audited to the same standard as the public site. Those pages are only used by us, not the public.
- We have not yet completed a full screen-reader audit. If you use a screen reader and hit a barrier, please tell us so we can fix it.
Browsers and devices we test on
We test on current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Older browsers may render the site with reduced styling but it should still be usable. If your browser is more than two years old we may not have tested it.
Telling us about an accessibility problem
We want to hear about it. If you find something on the site that does not work for you, or if you need information from this site in a different format (large print, over the phone, a different file type), please get in touch:
- Email:
- Phone: 0161 000 0000 (Mon-Sat 9:00-18:00)
We aim to reply within two working days and to fix issues as soon as we can.
Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing accessibility regulations in the UK. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact them via the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
